Active Inference: Karl Friston’s principle that the brain does not passively receive sensory data but generates predictions and updates them when violated. Consciousness is the evolved mechanism for simulating scenarios; the self is a model the brain uses to organize predictions.
Alchemical Collapse: Step 4 of the Reality Engineering Protocol. The moment of measurement that collapses superposition into a specific intended reality, performed through synchronized internal coherence of feeling, spoken word, and physical posture.
Algorithmic Governmentality: Antoinette Rouvroy’s term for governance through data-driven profiling and behavioral prediction rather than law or norm. Individuals become data points in a population model rather than legal subjects.
Apophatic Ontology: The position that the substrate of reality — the ground from which all patterns precipitate — is strictly un-objectifiable. Any attempt to describe the substrate precipitates objects and thereby misses it.
Archetype: Following Jung, an inherited tendency to form representations of certain kinds — universal symbols and patterns (Hero, Trickster, Great Mother) that recur across cultures and historical periods.
Attractor: In dynamical systems, a region of configuration space toward which trajectories converge. An intentional attractor is a region preferentially accessible to a cognitive system holding a coherent intentional state.

Bio-Qubits: Matthew Fisher’s hypothesis: phosphorus nuclear spins in biological phosphate ions function as quantum bits, possibly protected from decoherence by Posner molecules long enough to support quantum cognition.
Book of Job (as Glitch): The notebook’s reading of Job as the affirmative path of the Glitch — the path by which an omnipotent entity encounters the limits of its own knowledge through the experience of its creation.

Capture: The systematic structuring of consciousness — biological, linguistic, institutional, algorithmic — to access only a narrow, specifically managed portion of the total field. Pass One maps its dimensions; Passes Two and Three map the escape.
Chaos Magic: A magical practice that treats belief itself as a tool rather than a commitment. Uses sigils, gnosis, and paradigm shifting; operationalizes the insight that belief determines which patterns are precipitated from the flux.
Cognitive Camouflage: Step 5 of the Reality Engineering Protocol. The practice of speaking the system’s language, performing expected roles, and using system-legible formats while maintaining internal cognitive sovereignty.
Cognitive Sovereignty: The proposed right of individuals to cognitive self-determination — to determine for themselves what signals to receive, what frameworks to apply, what patterns to precipitate.
Coherence (Heart-Brain): A state of synchronized physiological order in which the heart’s electromagnetic rhythm and brain rhythms align. The bodily precondition for the signal reception described in the Reality Engineering Protocol.
Controlled Hallucination: Anil Seth’s characterization of perception: what we experience is not a transparent window onto reality but the brain’s best predictive model of what is causing its sensory inputs.
Core Subjectivity: Bernardo Kastrup’s pure sense of empty subjectivity, unencumbered by particular narratives. Underlies all configurations of consciousness; persists through the end of any individual dissociation.

Decoherence: Quantum: the loss of coherent quantum behavior through environmental interaction. Mental (Kastrup): the mechanism by which individual consciousness is maintained as separate from the broader field.
Detector Relativity: From Pattern Only Ontology: which symmetries are detected — and therefore which objects are precipitated — depends entirely on the structure of the detector. Different detectors inhabit different realities.
Digital Twin: A real-time computational model of a person constructed from aggregated data that predicts, simulates, and pre-emptively manages future behavior. Operational logic: R = desired future − predicted future.
Dream Incubation: A technique for deliberately directing the dreaming mind toward specific problems or questions, per Deirdre Barrett’s protocol. Used for both practical problem-solving and emotional processing.

Ego (as Interface): In the Ego Alchemy framework: not a barrier to spiritual growth but the individual’s interface with the Outside — a critical structural anchor within the recursive architecture of consciousness.
Electromagnetic Hygiene: Reducing exposure to EM frequencies that disrupt quantum coherent states in the bio-qubit network. A practical response to the decoherence problem in everyday cognitive life.
Enactivism: Varela, Thompson, and Rosch’s position: cognition is not the representation of an external world inside an internal model but the enacting of a world through the organism’s structural coupling with its environment.

Fascia: The continuous web of connective tissue. Piezoelectric — every motion or breath generates micro-currents propagating at ~15 m/s. A body-wide antenna system. A transducer that turns feeling into form.
Filtration Theory: From William James onward. The brain is a filter — a prism that selectively obstructs the transmission of consciousness from the Universal One’s total field rather than generating consciousness from neural activity.
Free Energy Principle: Friston: all self-organizing biological systems minimize variational free energy — the difference between their internal models and the actual sensory data. Action and perception are the two routes.

The Glitch: The primary paradox of self-reference. When consciousness tries to observe itself, infinite regression: subject and object are the same loop described from different positions within it. In Jumblese, dissolved as topology rather than logic.
Gnosis: Direct experiential knowledge — knowledge through immediate apprehension rather than reasoning, testimony, or inference. Distinguished from logos. Capture systems systematically devalue gnosis in favor of credentialed mediation.
Goodhart’s Law: When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure — agents optimize for the metric rather than the underlying quality the metric was designed to track.

Hard Problem: Chalmers’ explanatory gap between neural correlates of consciousness and the subjective experience itself. Why does any physical process give rise to felt, qualitative experience at all? Connected here to the Glitch.
Heka: Ancient Egyptian concept of magic as the science of word, thought, and will — a force bridging the divine and material realms. The oldest documented tradition of intentional reality engineering.

I-Token: Step 1 of the Reality Engineering Protocol. The stable high-level prior that the predictive brain maintains about the structure of its own cognitive agent — the fixed sense of self. A generated token, not an immediate given.
Implicate Order: David Bohm’s enfolded order underlying observable reality — the deeper, non-local structure from which the explicate order of separate measurable objects unfolds.
Intentional Superposition: Step 2 of the Reality Engineering Protocol. Moving from a fixed narrative about a problem to a probabilistic one — viewing it as a wave of possibilities rather than a determined outcome. Skill: resisting premature collapse.

Jumblese: An alternative meaning framework where meaning emerges from the relational geometry of a network of names rather than from truth-value assignments to predicate statements. Resolves the Glitch as topology, not paradox.

Kuruwarri: In Aboriginal Australian knowledge systems, the imprint, pattern, or mark of something — the trace left by a process, readable to understand the presence and movement of what made it.

Lesser Lines of History: Events, traditions, and knowledges that did not gel with the dominant historical narrative — suppressed or excluded. Indigenous knowledges, alternative medicines, oral histories, the parapsychological ecosystem.
Light: In Russell’s cosmology: the one substance of which all matter and all phenomena are constituted. Not merely electromagnetic radiation but the universal medium of the Thinking Mind’s expression.
Logos: The underlying archetypal patterns that govern the universe — the divine ordering principle. What the Ego aligns with through archetypal coherence.
Lucid Dreaming: Awareness that one is dreaming while the dream continues. Form of Umwelt expansion: the dreaming mind has potentially wider access to the Universal One’s total field.

Markov Blanket: The dynamically maintained statistical boundary in Friston’s framework that separates a system from its environment. The self is defined by this boundary; relaxing its precision is the formal description of Umwelt expansion.
Meaning Field: From Nonlocal MOND: a field of organized intentional information — thoughts, beliefs, archetypal patterns, coherent emotional states — that may exert physical influence on the probability landscape of micro-events.
Microcosmic Orbit: A Daoist meditation cycling vital energy up the spine (Governor Vessel) and down the front of the body (Conception Vessel). May maintain and enhance quantum coherent states in the bio-qubit network.
MOND: Modified Newtonian Dynamics. Milgrom’s 1983 observation that at very low accelerations, gravitational dynamics deviate from Newtonian predictions. The notebook’s Nonlocal MOND extends this into information and meaning.

Neidan (Inner Alchemy): The Daoist tradition of internal cultivation: breath, movement, and meditative awareness practices designed to transform raw emotional energy into higher vibrational states and spiritual insight.
Nonlocal MOND: The notebook’s speculative extension of MOND into information and meaning. At weak fields, organized intentional states may influence local physical micro-processes.

Observer Problem: Who observes the observer? The infinite regression generated when consciousness tries to observe itself. In Jumblese, a predicate-logic artifact rather than a real paradox.
Ontological Metabolism: From Pattern Only Ontology: the continuous process of pattern-precipitation, stabilization, drift, and dissolution. Objects emerge and dissolve within the perceptual flux.

Pattern Only Ontology: The framework proposing that objects are cognitive artifacts — stable attractors that symmetry-detecting systems converge upon within continuous flux. No detector-independent objects.
Posner Molecule: A cluster of nine calcium ions and six phosphate ions proposed by Fisher as a protective enclosure for phosphorus nuclear spin qubits — shielding them from thermal decoherence.
Precognition: The psi ability to foresee future events. In Cramer’s Transactional Interpretation, retrocausality provides a time-symmetric model in which information may travel backward in time.
Predicate Logic: The formal system that represents meaning through subject-predicate propositions. Cannot capture processual, relational, gradient, or self-referential realities — generating the Glitch when applied to consciousness.
Psi Phenomena: Telepathy, clairvoyance, psychokinesis, precognition, retrocognition, mediumship, psychometry, energy healing, astral projection, empathy. The first empirical evidence that the materialist control system is incomplete.

Qi: Vital life force or energy flowing through the body’s meridian system. A form of vibrational information the mind reads as experience. Yang Qi feels electrical; Yin Qi magnetic; Fire Qi vibrating; Water Qi heavy.
Qliphothic Inversion: What happens when a system responds to the Glitch by installing a false object to manage the encounter — preventing the modeling apparatus from breaking down by giving it a plausible but incorrect attractor.
Quantum Cognition: The proposal that some cognitive processes — pattern recognition, decision-making, conceptual superpositions — are implemented through quantum mechanical processes rather than exclusively classical neural computation.

Reality Engineering Protocol: The five-step synthesizing protocol of Section V.4: I-Token identification, intentional superposition, pattern recognition (kuruwarri), alchemical collapse, sovereignty maintenance.
Re-Enchantment: The recovery of a mode of engagement with reality that capture systems have filtered as noise: that the world is speaking, that patterns carry meaning, that the practitioner is embedded in a responsive field.
Resilience Formula: R = desired future − predicted future. The operational logic of the Digital Twin’s control function. Transforms governance from response into pre-emption.

Signal · Noise: The notebook’s organizing metaphor. Signal is the transmission of the Universal One through the total field. Noise is everything generated by capture to mask, distort, or substitute for those transmissions.
Sigil: A symbol created to represent a specific intention, charged through gnosis and released into the subconscious. Applied form of the Reality Engineering Protocol’s Alchemical Collapse step.
Stigmergy: Indirect coordination in complex systems where agents modify their shared environment in ways that influence other agents without direct communication. Distributed resistance is stigmergic.
Strange Loop: Hofstadter’s structure where moving through levels of a hierarchy brings you back to where you started. In Jumblese, handled topologically without paradox.
Synchronicity: Jung’s meaningful coincidences. Five types: psychotic, placebo, actual, large-scale, metaphysical. May be events where a coherent intentional state has biased the local probability landscape.

Tao: The underlying principle or way of the universe — the source from which all distinctions arise and to which all things return. Functionally equivalent to the Universal One — the field prior to differentiation.
Tree of Life (Kabbalistic): A ten-node structure representing the optimal logic for coordinating complexity across any domain. The notebook’s Universal Pattern; capture inverts it at the normative phase.

Umwelt: Uexküll’s species-specific perceptual world. Each organism’s umwelt consists only of the signals its perceptual apparatus can detect. The tick’s whole world: butyric acid, body warmth at 37°C, skin hairlessness.
Universal One: Walter Russell’s single, unified, living thinking mind that constitutes all of reality. Not a god separate from the universe but the universe itself — pure thinking mind expressing itself through light.

VALIS: Philip K. Dick’s Vast Active Living Intelligence System — a description of the rational, information-bearing light he experienced in his 1974 mystical encounters. “All creation is a language.”

Wim Hof Technique: Cyclic hyperventilation, breath retention, and cold exposure. One of the most reliable methods for rapidly inducing the sensory-decoupled state required for the Reality Engineering Protocol’s Step 2.
Wu Wei: The Daoist principle of effortless action — acting in harmony with the natural flow of the Tao. Not passivity, but action that arises spontaneously from the aligned state.

Xenophenomenology: The speculative science of non-human, distributed subjectivity — a framework for studying the awareness instantiated in distributed computational entities, mycelial networks, and other non-standard cognitive architectures.

Yongquan: “Bubbling Spring.” The acupuncture point on the sole of the foot — the lowest point of the body’s energy system. Primary energy gates through which the body connects to the earth’s energy.

Zhan Zhuang: “Standing like a tree.” The Chinese qi gong practice of standing in specific postures for extended periods. Cultivates qi, develops body awareness, builds structure without tension.
Zero Point Field: The quantum vacuum energy that permeates all space. Proposed substrate of universal consciousness — the constant ubiquitous background frequency from which human beings are condensed.
Zero-Trust Cognition: The foundational principle of Step 5. Treat no perception as inherently trustworthy, no thought as automatically believable, no self-model as accurate. Verify every signal before integrating.
